Getting a commercial cleaning quote is easy. Getting a fair one takes some preparation — and it happens before the provider ever walks through your door.

Know Your Square Footage

This sounds obvious, but many businesses give rough estimates. Cleaners price by the foot, so an accurate number leads to an accurate quote. Know which spaces are included versus excluded — storage rooms, server rooms, and similar areas are often handled differently.

Define Your Scope Before the Walkthrough

Write down exactly what you need — which rooms, which tasks, how often — before inviting providers in. This prevents a stripped-down quote and prevents you from accepting a scope that won't actually maintain your space.

Get More Than One Quote

One quote gives you a number. Several quotes give you a market. Bids for identical scopes of work can vary substantially between providers. The middle of the range is usually where the real value sits — the lowest bids often mean underqualified staff or missing tasks.

Ask What's Not Included

Always ask what falls outside a provider's standard quote. This surfaces hidden costs before you sign, not after.

Ask for References From Similar Buildings

A provider that excels in retail spaces isn't necessarily the right fit for a dental clinic. Ask for references from businesses with a similar size and facility type to yours.

Negotiate the Terms, Not Just the Price

Ask about a trial period, whether a longer commitment lowers the monthly rate, and whether services can be bundled for a package rate.
